   SI DOUGLAS GHOST NIGHT

Joan Sherry wrote: "SI Douglas had a great fundraiser in an 11th Century Castle here on the Island at Castletown. We can boast the best preserved medieval castle in Europe and it is kept in wonderful condition by our Manx National Heritage. The main rooms are furnished in the period. This gave a lovely setting for the event which was a cheese and wine night. During the evening members of the castle staff, dressed in medieval costume, mingled with the guests and told ghost stories (true of course). It all ended with a walk round the castle with a member of the paranormal society. Those with sensors were supposed to pick up unusual magnetic fields - nobody, did but we all had fun, and hopefully raised a lot of cash."

Joan received photos from the local Manx newspaper. We publish these photos by courtesy of the Editor .               PHOTOGRAPHS: Mike Wade - "Isle of Man Newspapers"                   (URL: http://www.iomtoday.co.im/)
