"We arrived here in Pictou County, Nova Scotia at about 1.00 am yesterday morning (Friday) after being up and on the way for just on 24 hours.. I slept for a few hours - but woke to find this beautiful scene which is the view from our bedroom window:

" We really are assured of a white Christmas - I'll attempt to send a suitable photo of George and myself. Maybe you will be able to post on a www site - but not to worry if you are all busy getting ready for Christmas 'cos it's not important.
" We were very lucky to actually get here OK. Yesterday (Friday) 200 flights were cancelled in Montreal... We flew in during a 4 hour window when the airport was open!! Amazingly, by the time we got to the house, Montreal airport was closed and they had 41 cm of snow. It is still digging out as I type, but some flights are now getting in and out!!!! Who knows, we may never get home and have to stay here all winter ;-)

Above is a photograph of George & Kate taken mid-day on Christmas Day... They are standing on the outside deck at the rear of the house, the frozen lake behind them. The temperature had risen to about 4.0 C above freezing! It had been as low as 15 C below freezing!
