COLLECTING FOR THE DISASTER EMERGENCY COMMITTEE
TSUNAMI EARTHQUAKE APPEAL

Federation President Janet Garnons-Williams
Janet was spotted at Tesco store Gillingham with her bucket as Jenny dropped her pennies into the bucket.

Ann Holland, Soroptimist of Gravesend & Disrtict, is Coordinator for Emergency Response for the British Red Cross in North Kent, she writes:   "Can I say a big THANK YOU to all those who gave up all or part of their weekend to help us with this effort.   The Gillingham Lions club were brilliant and I know that the Rotary helped as well.   Medway Soroptimists came along and my own club made sure that no one needed a break at my local store as I was at Gillingham 15 miles away.

SIGBI Federation President Janet Garnons-Williams was one of the first to give up her Sunday morning to help the British Red Cross collect for the Disaster Emergency Committee.

The collection looks as if it has exceeded £4000 at the one store so if this is multiplied by all the stores nationwide that exceeds £1,000,000 for this weekend."
