SIE CONFERENCE - VIENNA JULY 2005

Fay Cori (SI Cardigan, Wales South, SIGBI) sent photos that give us something of the 'flavour' of the Conference.

Fay's comment: "If the purpose of such conferences is to discuss important issues with high profile speakers, to meet old friends and develop new relationships, to absorb the atmosphere and culture of the hosting federation, then this SIE Vienna Congress scored one hundred per cent in my book. I came home re-energised, refreshed and re-motivated."

Fay writes: "At the Open Heart Open Door Luncheon the guests were given a colour and looked for a matching crocheted heart on the tables. A lovely idea which I first saw at President Heidi's lunch in Helsinki."

AFTERTHOUGHT from EVA TYSON, SI Dunfermline, Scotland South Region:

Eva sent a photo and wrote:
Lachlan MacLennan

"When I went to Vienna I had contributed a Scottish doll to add to the other peacedolls.   He was made by an artistic friend of mine.   He was on display in one of the stores in Vienna which was just great.

On the left is a photo of Lachlan

"He is splendid in a kilt made from my family tartan MacLennan, he also has bagpipes and even a scian dhu   I christened him Lachlan MacLennan, but I don't know where he ended up after he was auctioned at the gala dinner, so he may have ended up in a foreign land and probably having a great time!"
