"SI Cardigan, felt we needed a bit of zing in our media pre-publicity for the sponsored walk as well as getting some of us into a sprightly step on the day. We invited three young Wales cross-country runners from our local school who set the pace, wearing unique tee-shirts designed especially for them. The girls received printouts from Dawn Marie Lemond’s report on the Rwanda visit so they went home with some knowledge of our commitment. Our walk took us through Cardigan’s Wildlife Park on a breezey sunshiney day with packed teas for a picnic and a wheelchair for a Soroptimist who wasn’t going to miss the action. We had good coverage in the local press for two consecutive weeks and raised £742.50 "Everyone had a wonderful time, including the girls who really were the stars of the show."
