"On Sunday, Barbara Milburn, Sue Dunscombe and I, plus several other Soroptimists had a most enjoyable meeting and dinner with Avril Reynolds, a fellow club member of Fay Cori's.

"Avril was on her first visit to NZ and on an organised tour, so hasn't had many opportunities to meet up with fellow Soroptimists. As it was she was only in Wellington for one day and one night. However, the weather was absolutely lovely and Wellington was at its best not only for Avril but for the yachts in the Volvo Ocean Race leaving for Rio de Janeiro.

"As can be imagined we all had a great time - the Soroptimisters who came along were banished to one end of the table so that we girls could chat! A very enjoyable evening."

Sheilah concluded:
"I have attached a couple of photos plus one I copied from the paper of the boats leaving harbour (don't know how this will copy but thought it worth a try)."
