Fay Cori (SI Cardigan) was one of several Chatliners who spent time with Meryl in London. Fay sent this photo:
Meryl wrote: "Now for the big trip.
"I leave on Christmas Eve for my niece and family in California; then to London to the family currently there; I have looked at the live ‘shows’ scheduled for January and they include ‘Billy Elliott” and ‘Mary Poppins’. I understand they are heavily booked but will try to see them. "The AGM of “63” is scheduled whilst I am there and will try to get to that.
"Then to Kenya where I have ten days with the local Soroptimists, a number of whom were in Sydney for the convention in 2003. "The main purpose of the trip comes next - an organised tour of the Soroptimist International Project for this Quadrenium - “Project Independence. Women for Women. Women Survivors of War” located in Rwanda. There are two tours back to back and only 8 on each (and the co-ordinator), representing two from each of our four Federations. So far I only know the co-ordinator and one other but am not sure which tour the latter is on. "I fly home via Johannesburg where I resisted the temptation to visit friends nearby and in the south of South Africa. As it is I only arrive home two weeks before the Club’s Birthday celebrations.

The reflection in the doors are the
trees from Regent's Park on the other side of the road.
We are already on the third web page dealing with Meryl's trip. I thought it a good idea to refresh our memories about what Meryl told us in her Annual End-of-Year letter. Here is an excerpt:
