|
Linda Vanaman (SI Cumberland County,

Installation & Awards Banquet. held on May 28th.
Linda Vanaman, as Past President and Mistress of Ceremonies and Wanda
Price, District II Director, North Atlantic Region.
Linda writes:" This year we gave more than $8,000 in awards to
local students and organizations. One of the awards, the SICC Merit Award went
to students from 4 area schools. When SIA did away with the Youth Opportunity
Award we continued to do so anyway.

Smith, Tara Wells.
"We also give the Catherine Janvier Memorial Award to a
female student from Bridgeton High School who is desirous of entering the
medical field.
" Catherine Janvier, a former member, left a bequest to the Club for that
purpose. She had wanted to become a physician but her parents did not have the
means to send her to medical school. All her life she regretted that so when she
died she made it possible for some underprivileged female to "live her dream".
