"Sunday we enjoyed the annual Region Lunch, one hundred and twenty of us. nbsp; After lunch presentations were made to the SI Fylde club who won the beautiful glass Rose-Bowl, full of flowers, to keep for a year.   The competition this time was for clubs to design a small booklet of useful addresses in their area e.g all doctors, dentists , libraries, play groups, everything we could think of.   Then the 'Darwen Shield ' was presented to the club who had sent in the Programme Focus form which was giving the best service this year.   SI Blackpool won that one.   The shield is polished wood in a heart shape.   When the SI Darwen club had to close four years ago, the President's Chain was dismantled, it was made from gold small shields with the name of each President who had worn engraved on it.   These shields have been mounted onto the wooden shield, the club who win can display it in the club for a year.

"We were honoured year to have South Lancashire President -- also Chatliner as our guest and she presented the items won.

"Time for a break in our Region now, an enjoyable end to another busy year."
