   PNINA'S VISIT TO SWEDEN & NORWAY   
MAY 2004

"I came home to Israel after an unusually rewarding trip to Stockholm and Norway.

Stockholm:

"It started right away at the airport !!    Kirsten Sveder was waiting for me there!   It was the first time we have met, but it was as if we never parted.   I can not start to tell you how wonderful my 4 days with Kirsten were.

A constant warm energy was enfolding both of us, and a real face to face deep friendship was established.   Kirsten really made an effort, and Stockholm, the city and Soroptimist clubs were open to me.

Another real highlight was meeting my friend Mayne*.   That was great as well, feeling so close to each other in 1 minute!   We spent time together, and it was such a pleasure!

Norway:

"There, it was another huge life experience.   To open a new club, that was my mission.   It turned out to be again, a wonderful human get-together.

"The new club of Arendal, consist of 30 young energetic Soroptimists, with Hilde Lundeval Arnet as founder President.   She did a wonderful job and united women that had bot known each other before.   After being together for a year they now function as one Unit!

"The Album that I prepared. with greetings that you sent me was a great success.   They didn't know about the Chatline, and the internationality of that tool.   It caused real excitement, the album was passed from hand to hand and every greeting,to see where it came from, was looked at...... I really felt proud to be a part of you all.

And there another Chatline experience! my third meeting with a Chatliner face to face!   Margaret Støle Karlsen from Larvik. it was great to meet her and later photograph her in her beautiful national dress.

"The spring smiled a sunny smile to me along my visit, huge spring flowering everywhere was a great welcome of nature........ Who needs more? Who needs another recommendation for being a Soroptimist, let alone a CHATLINER?"

"The two met when Pnina came to Arendal in Norway to hand over the Charter for the new club.   Pnina and Margaret became friends through the Chatline.   SI of Larvik celebrates its 35th anniversary in September 2004 and have 32 active members.   The magazine comes out twice a year and is a link between the members, neighboring clubs and our sponsors.   Our sponsors put ads in the magazine for about £ 750 per year.

The Ceremony of handing over the Charter for the new Norwegian club went very well thanks to Governor Pnina and the very competent President of the new club and the club members of SI of Arendal.   Over 90 Soroptimists attended and it was a great evening."
